The local government of Navotas City started on the Monday, Dec. 5, the Department of Health’s (DOH’s) “Bakunahang Bayan” drive against Covid-19 in the city.
DOH’s Bakunahang Bayan aims to boost the number of individuals who are vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country. The program targets to inoculate the minors but is still open for the rest of the eligible population.
The city government said that health workers from the City Health Department will conduct house-to-house vaccinations for the residents until Dec. 7.
They are targeting to inoculate over 4,000 kids aged five to 11 in the Bakunahang Bayan vaccination drive, while other residents can still come to get their Covid-19 jabs.

Meanwhile, the city government announced on Tuesday, Dec. 6, that the Covid-18 vaccination and swabbing activities in the city will temporarily be halted on Thursday, Dec. 8, in line with the Feast of Immaculate Conception of Mary. The activities will resume on Friday, Dec. 9
The city recorded a total of 223,034 individuals who received their second Covid-19 vaccine doses and 223,034 with their first doses as of Dec. 5.
There are also 75,441 individuals inoculated their first boosters while 15,950 received their second booster jabs.
As of Dec. 5, the city has listed 49 active Covid-19 cases out of the 22,078 total number of cases in the city, with 713 deaths and 21,316 recoveries.
