A 17-year-old boy was arrested by members of Pasay City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) for selling marijuana and kush during an entrapment operation on Monday, Dec. 5.
Col. Byron Tabernilla, city police chief, said the suspect identified as Jack was arrested around 5:30 p.m. at Kalayaan Village Gate 3, Barangay 201 Zone 3, Pasay City.
Tabernilla said members of DEU conducted a buy-bust operation after learning the suspect was the main source of illegal drugs proliferating in the area and most of his patrons are youth hooked on drugs.
He said the police were able to confiscate from the suspect 432 grams of dried marijuana leaves amounting to P51,840 and 11.40 grams of kush worth P17,100.
The city police chief said the arrested suspect was brought to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Tabernilla said the police will continue to conduct operations against the cohorts of the suspect to save the youth from using drugs.
He also called on the cooperation of the community in the campaign of the police against illegal drugs by reporting the persons involved in illegal drugs trade.
