DOH reports 7,731 new Covid-19 cases in the past week

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Dec. 5, a total of 7,731 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during the past week.

In its weekly case bulletin, DOH stated that daily average cases are now at 1,104 which is four percent lower than cases from Nov. 21 to Nov. 27.

The agency also recorded two additional cases tagged under severe and critical infections. Currently, there are 595 severe and critical Covid-19 admissions which is 9.1 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, 534 or 22.1 percent out of 2,413 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are being used while 5,177 or 25.3 percent out of 20,452 non-ICU beds are being utilized.

Meanwhile, DOH also reported 134 more deaths due to Covid-19. Of the 134 deaths, two occurred in December 2022, 18 in November 2022, one in April 2022, one in March 2022, three in February 2022, 13 in January 2022, two in December 2021, six in November 2021, 18 in October 2021, 17 in September 2021, 14 in August 2021, six in July 2021, seven in June 2021, six in May 2021, six in April 2021, six in March 2021, one in February 2021, one in January 2021, two in November 2020, one in October 2020, one in September 2020, and two in July 2020.

In terms of vaccination, DOH disclosed that 73,625,652 individuals have been fully-vaccinated against Covid-19 while 20,938,010 have received boosters or additional doses.

For children aged five to 11, as of Nov. 30, a total of 5,333,423 or 48.9% of the target population of 10.8 million have been fully-vaccinated against Covid-199 while for kids aged 12 to 17, the agency said that a total of 10,010,095 or 112 percent of the target population of 8.9 million have been fully-vaccinated.
