Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo received a challenge coin from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), marking the commencement of her “plan to be part of the PCG Auxiliary force.”
PCG Auxiliary is a civilian volunteer organization that seeks to provide assistance to the PCG in the promotion of safety of life and property at sea as well as the preservation of marine environment and its resources.

“As I receive the PCG challenge coin, my commitment is not only to work on being part of the PCG Auxiliary, but also to help inform about their mandate so we can encourage Filipinos to support the PCG's work and even help protect our seas in their own way," said Lamentillo on Monday, Dec. 5.
The challenge coin was given by PCG Admiral Artemio Abu.
“It would be an honor to be part of the PCG auxiliary to support their work in ensuring the safety, security, and sustainability of our seas," she added.
Upon receiving the challenge coin, Lamentillo, in return, gave PCG Admiral Abu a copy of Night Owl – a book Lamentillo authored, detailing the Build, Build, Build infrastructure program.
