Sibol MLBB team drops to lower bracket after stunning loss to Indonesia

The Sibol MLBB team suffered a stunning 2-0 defeat at the hands of Indonesia in the upper bracket of the IESF World Esports Championship in Bali, Indonesia on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The national team composed of the players from MPL Season 10 champion Blacklist International couldn’t keep its grip on the lead in the opening game allowing the Indonesians to complete a comeback which practically set the tone in the stunning series defeat.

Composed of EVOS Legends team which finished seventh in the MPL Indonesia Season 10, the host team leaned on the initiation of Rizqi “Saykots” Damank using his Yu Zhong to turn things around in Game 1.

A crucial three-man petrify and knock-up on the three Filipino players triggered the massive fightback as the Indonesians recovered from an early 6-0 kill deficit. They secured the Lord to even the tower count before winning a huge midlane clash that saw them take down four Filipino players to draw the first blood of the series with a come-from-behind 10-7 win.

Everything went downward spiral from there for Filipinos as their sustain lineup anchored on Edward “Edward” Dapadap’s Fredrinn and a surprise jungle Grock pick on Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario couldn’t hold up to the damage and crowd control of the Indonesian team.

Indonesia’s Akai, Kaja and Yu Zhong proved to be the biggest thorn to the side of the Filipinos as it closed out the series with a 12-1 victory in Game 2.
