Still licking its wounds from a stunning defeat against Indonesia to start the day, Sibol made sure to not take Slovenia for granted and went on a tear in the series opener.

The Filipinos took control of the contest right from the get go and cruised to a swift 23-3 victory in just nine minutes of play. With Jonmar “OhmyV33nus’ Villaluna providing the sustain to the double-marksman lineup of Sibol with her Rafaela pick, both Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario on the Granger and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano on the Beatrix snowballed and dominated their respective counterparts.

Oheb finished with an impeccable 13-0-4 line while Salic “Hadji” Imam added a neat 8-0-10 KDA on the Valentina pick.

The Filipinos showed no letup in the second game as Hadji and Oheb showed exactly why they are the defending champions in M4 World Championships, leading the way in finishing off the European representatives.

Oheb unloaded another perfect game of 9-0-7 line on the Wanwan while Hadji did most of his damage from the backlines with a 7-0-11 tally on the Pharsa. The Filipinos closed out the series with a dominant 26-3 win in Game 2.

The Filipinos will now face the losers in the upper bracket match between Argentina and Indonesia on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Meanwhile in other titles, Sibol’s Andreij “Doujin” Albar bowed out of contention in Tekken 7. He failed to qualify to the next round after rounding up the eliminations with an even 2-2 record which was not enough to finish in the top 2 of his group.

He opened the competition with two straight loses against Ivory Coast and Poland before bouncing back with victories over Colombia and Laos.

In Dota 2, the Sibol team continued to march strong in the tournament, currently sporting a 3-1 record in the group stage after beating Venezuela, Nepal, and New Zealand while dropping its game against Myanmar.

The team composed of Charles Delos Santos, Joel Pagkatotohan, James Erice Guera, Jomari Anis, Eljohn Andales, and Mark Anthony Rubina, wraps up the eliminations with a match against Costa Rica later in the day.
