Grade 1 pupil dies in vehicular accident in Quezon


CANDELARIA, Quezon -- A grade one pupil died after the motorcycle he was raiding was bumped off by a trailer truck on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Barangay Malabanban Norte in this town.

The victim who was identified but the name was withheld was a resident of School View Park Subdivision in Brgy. Masalukot 1, also in this town.

Around 6:00 a.m. the victim was a back-ride in a motorcycle driven by Myren Martinez, 31, pump attendant and a resident of Brgy. Masalukot 1.

Investigation said that the motorcycle was cruising southbound and was about to turn left to enter the gasoline station when it was bumped off by a trailer heavy tanker driven by Pablito Flores, 55, and a resident of Cabuyao City, Laguna.

The motorcycle was also hit by an arriving car driven Mario Mangune, 34, and a resident of this town.

Due to strong impact the motorcycle driver and the victim fell on the pavement. Unfortunately, the boy was ran over by the tanker.

The victim died on the spot due to severe injuries.

A criminal complaint for violation of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injury and damage to property will be filed in the prosecutor's office against the truck driver.
