DOLE releases P30M for 5,493 TUPAD workers in Cagayan Valley


A total of 5,493 beneficiaries from Cagayan Valley region received their salary for rendering emergency employment through Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

In a statement, DOLE Regional Office 2 (RO2) said the salary payout for TUPAD workers reached P30 million, spearheaded by Cagayan 3rd District Rep. Joseph Lara at Grand Ballroom Pulsar Hotel Alimanao Hills in Peñablanca, Cagayan, on Nov. 28.

DOLE said the TUPAD beneficiaries rendered ten days of community work through clean-up and beautification of public facilities in their respective barangays.

Local government units of Tuguegarao City, Amulung, Iguig, Peñablanca, Enrile, and Solana are the recipients of the TUPAD payout, according to DOLE Assistant Regional Director Jesus Elpidio B. Atal Jr.

Atal represented DOLE Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales in awarding of salary.

The labor official highlighted in his welcoming speech the importance of the DOLE’s emergency program to promote the interest of vulnerable workers, specifically the displaced and disadvantaged workers in need of emergency employment.
