55 kilos of dried marijuana worth P6.6 M seized in Isabela buy-bust; suspect eludes arrest


ISABELA – Authorities confiscated 55 bricks of dried marijuana leaves worth P6.6 million, but the suspect eluded arrest during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Abut, Quezon, Isabela on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The buy-bust operation was conducted around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in region ll, Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office, PDEA Quirino Provincial Office, and Kalinga Regional Force Mobile Battalion 3Rd Company.

The raiders found two sacks containing 55 bricks of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops.

The contents weighed more or less 55 kilos with an estimated market value of P6,600,000.

A case for violation of Section 5, Article II of RA 9165, is being prepared for filing in court against the suspect identified as Bryan Appag who eluded arrest.
