Parañaque LGU designates firecracker zones for safer celebration of New Year

The Parañaque City government has designated firecracker zones in the city’s 16 barangays for a safer celebration of New Year’s Eve.

Lawyer Voltaire dela Cruz, city administrator, said identifying firecracker zones in the city is in compliance with the resolution of the Metro Manila Council (MMC).

Dela Cruz said the Public Information Office (PIO) posted on its Facebook page the areas designated by the city government as firecracker zones in District 1 and 2.

He said the designated areas are mostly basketball courts and open spaces for the residents to celebrate the New Year safely.

The city administrator ordered the concerned offices like the City Health Office, Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office, as well as the local police and fire department, to be on alert to respond to any untoward incident that may occur during the New Year revelry.
