Jones Bridge closed for New Year's Eve celebration

The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau released a traffic advisory announcing the closure of the northbound and southbound part of Jones Bridge from 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 to 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, to give way for New Year's Eve fireworks.

The city government advises everyone to take alternate routes to their destination.

The fireworks display is part of the annual Christmas and New Year traditions of the City of Manila government.

The public is invited to see the actual fireworks in the vicinity of Jones Bridge or watch via online live stream on the city's Facebook page.

It also reminded the public that the use of fireworks by private households remains prohibited in the city.
