Duterte exhorted the young generation during the commemoration of the 126th Rizal Day here on Friday.

“I also hope that the legacy and memory of Rizal will always be treasured, remembered, and lived,” she said in an interview with reporters.

Duterte, concurrent Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary, also urged learners to value patriotism, courage, and integrity which she said were lived out by Rizal.

Meanwhile, Duterte thanked Filipinos for the trust and confidence given to her as she serves the country.

Duterte and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received high approval and trust ratings in a nationwide survey conducted by the non-government organization RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. this month.

The survey showed that 83 percent of respondents were satisfied with Marcos’ job performance while 81 percent expressed approval of the Vice President.

“We are always thankful for their trust and confidence in me as the Vice President and DepEd Secretary,” she said.

Duterte vowed she will continue to improve services in the Office of the Vice President and DepEd.
