Actor Joaquin Domagoso opened up about having a baby for the first time with partner Raffa Castro, saying he enjoys being with his son at home.

"Me and my family were both happy na my son is eight months old na. Bihira na rin akong umalis ng bahay because lagi ko siyang miss. Tulad ngayon, maraming feelings na hindi mo mararamdaman talaga," revealed Joaquin during the mediacon for his award-winning movie "That Boy In The Dark" held in Quezon City on Friday, Dec. 30.

(Me and my family were both happy that my son is eight months old. I rarely leave the house anymore because I always miss him. Like now, there are many feelings that you can't really describe.)

"There’s so much new feelings all the time na nakakaiyak at nakakatuwa. Medyo iba na ngayon ang mundo ko. Yung mga sinabi before ng tatay ko or ng mama ko hindi ko naiintidihan. Ngayon parang gets ko na," he also said. His baby's name is Scott Angelo Domagoso.

(There's so many new feelings all the time that make me cry and happy. My world is a bit different now. I don't understand what my father or my mother said before. Now I seem to get it.)

Asked about his wedding plans with Raffa, Joaquin said: "Wala pa. Mag-iipon muna kami.'' (Not yet. We'll save first.)

Joaquin, 21, said that what he loves about his baby is that he smiles in front of people.

"Kapag may mga kaharap siyang tao, mahilig siyang mag-smile. Ganun siya kakulit," he said.

(When he's in front of people, he likes to smile. He's that naughty.)

The award-winning actor also said that his father former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was so happy when he learned he was having a baby. "Si mama naman medyo na surprise nung nalaman niya. Si Raffa ang nagsabi sa family niya na we're having a baby."

(Mom was a bit surprised when she found out. Raffa told her family that we're having a baby.)

Joaquin said that he is now inspired to work hard for his baby. He also said that he is a responsible father who knows how to take care of his baby, including changing his diapers.

The young dad revealed that his baby will be baptized on his birthday in April 2023. "Isang event na lang."

Joaquin has already won four best actor trophies from various award-giving bodies abroad for his role as a blind teenager in "That Boy In The Dark."

For his debut movie, Joaquin already received best actor awards from the Toronto Film and Script Awards, Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela, the Boden International Film Festival in Sweden and Latitude Film Awards in London.

"That Boy In The Dark" will be shown in Philippine cinemas on Jan. 8, 2023. It is directed by Adolf Alix Jr.
