Are alcomixes your preferred drink? Then brace for possible higher prices for the beverage.

House Committee on Ways and Means chairman, Albay 2nd district Rep. Joey Salceda said Friday, Dec. 30 that his panel would look into "discussing taxation" on the commodity come 2023.
"We will discuss taxation of alcohol products, especially alcomixes or alcopops," Salceda said in a statement.
"I am not yet fixed on higher rates for alcohol across the board, but I definitely want alcomixes to be taxed in parity with beer. They are consumed like beer, and they attract younger consumers. So, I want higher taxes there," he explained.
Salceda's committee is the so-called tax panel of the House, since it is the one that approves tax provisions of bills.
