Fireworks-related injuries now at 41, 52% higher than in 2021 — DOH

Five more cases of fireworks-related injuries were recorded by the Department of Health (DOH), the agency said on Friday, Dec. 30.
This brings the number of firework-related injuries to 41.
“Since yesterday, Dec. 29, five new cases of fireworks-related injuries have been recorded from the 61 DOH sentinel hospitals,” the DOH said in an update posted on its official social media page.
“Currently, the total number of cases of firecracker injuries is 41, which is 52 percent higher than what was recorded last year on the covered date,” it added.
The DOH advised the public to avoid fireworks so that every family can welcome the New Year safely.
