Residents in insurgency-cleared barangays complete TESDA courses

CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela -- Residents in the insurgency-cleared barangays of Allacapan and Lal-lo, Cagayan completed courses offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

Report said around 70 locals from Barangays San Juan and Dalayap of Allacapan and 20 residents from Bangag, Lal-lo successfully secured their National Certificate II after 30 days of training and seminar.

Jaypee Gapon, who finished the electrical installation course, thanked TESDA for the opportunity given to him.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa TESDA dahil malaking oportunidad itong ibinigay nila sa amin na magagamit namin sa paghahanap buhay," said Gapon.

Anabel Castro who completed the small ruminant course said: "Maibabahagi rin namin ang aming natutunan sa mga kapwa namin na interesado rin matuto. Hindi lamang para sa amin ito kundi para sa lahat."

Other graduates who finished other courses such as small engine course and concoction also expressed their gratitude to TESDA as well as for the assistance and security provided by the troops of the 17th Infantry Battalion.

The graduation of the said residents is under the program of the Poverty Reduction and Livelihood Employment Cluster, Barangay Development Program headed by TESDA to sustain the insurgency-cleared status of the barangays.
