Crime rate in Central Luzon down 2%

Police in Central Luzon reported a decrease in crime incidents in the region in October and November this year.

Regional police chief Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen said they recorded only 136 cases in eight focus crimes – murder, homicide, robbery, theft, physical injury, motorcycle carnapping, carnapping, and rape – in the past two months.

This is down 2.23 percent or 527 compared to the same period last year which had 663 cases.

Pasiwen cited the continuous implementation of enhanced managing police operations and the Kasimbayan (Kapulisan-Simbahan-Pamayanan) program for the decrease.

"As we go hammer and tongs in our campaign against criminality and illegal drugs thru our enhanced managing police operations and Kasimbayan, our crime rate for the months of October and November has dropped more than two percent compared to that of last year. Let us continue working together for a safer place to live, work, and do business," Pasiwen said.
