Six people died in a fire that hit a residential area in Quiapo, Manila on Thursday, Dec, 29, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
In a report, the BFP said four people were also reported injured.
Based on the report, the fire started at 2:34 a.m. and reached third alarm in around 15 minutes. Third alarm means that six to seven houses were already affected.
The flame then crept towards the nearby areas but the BFP said it was placed under control by 4:15 a.m. and eventually contained at 8:10 a.m.
During the initial search, firemen discovered two cadavers. Four more were retrieved later.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. (Chito A. Chavez)
