European businesses back Pascual as DTI chief

The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) backs the confirmation of Secretary Alfredo Pascual as Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) chief.

In a statement on Thursday, Dec. 30, the Chamber appreciates the leadership of Secretary Pascual as well as his commitment to developing MSMEs which serve as the backbone of the Philippine economy.

"ECCP also appreciates the Secretary’s vision and emphasis on enhanced digitalization and e-governance which will accelerate the country's industrialization and economic transformation," the business group said.

"We believe this will facilitate the ease of doing business and send a positive signal to investors that the Philippines is indeed ripe and ready for more foreign direct investments. Furthermore, the ECCP looks forward to continuing its collaboration with DTI, under the leadership of Secretary Pascual, in making the Philippines an attractive business destination. We are certain that we will soon be able to accomplish our shared advocacies of inclusive growth and sustainable development for the Philippines."
