The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has distributed a livelihood starter kit to around 25 senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and other informal workers in far-flung barangays of Alfonso Castañeda in Nueva Vizcaya.
DOLE Provincial Director Elizabeth U. Martinez said the P561,600 worth of starter kit was provided to help poor people and reduce vulnerability, especially the marginalized workers by providing them with tools and equipment to start their businesses.
They include materials for welding services, carpentry, masonry, vulcanizing, hair cutting, and hairdressing.
Apart from awarding grants, the DOLE spearheaded a Business and Work Improvement Course (BWIC), which included lectures on entrepreneurship.
