Bohol governor distributes P10,000 aid to fire victims on 45th birth anniversary


CEBU CITY – Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado celebrated his 45th birth anniversary on Thursday, Dec. 29, by distributing financial assistance to fire victims in Barangay Poblacion 2, Tagbilaran City.

“I chose to celebrate my birthday with the fire victims to give them hope,” Aumentado said.

Around 75 families who lost their homes received P10,000 cash each from the governor. Three persons died during the fire which destroyed at least 50 houses on Dec. 23.

“I pray that they will not lose hope because there are a lot of people who care for them,” Aumentado said.

He was accompanied by his wife Bohol Rep. Vanessa Aumentado, Vice Gov. Victor Balite, Tagbilaran Vice Mayor Adam Jala, Poblacion 2 Barangay Captain Ricardo Real, and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief Anthony Damalerio.

After the distribution of financial assistance, fire victims and barangay officials surprised Aumentado by giving him a birthday cake.
