The municipal government of Angono has reminded vendors in the town’s public markets and villages of an existing ordinance banning the selling of gun replicas and pellet guns.
Vice Mayor Gerardo “Gerry” Calderon, in a statement, informed manufacturers, vendors and distributors of the pellet guns that Municipal Ordinance No. 15-695 prohibiting the sale, manufacture and distribution of such toy guns remains in effect.
Calderon said violators of the ordinance face six months of imprisonment, a fine of P2,000, and cancellation of the business permit.
For the past few weeks, the Angono Public Safety and Order (PSO) has confiscated several pellet guns from vendors and even children who were caught playing the toy gun.
In the past years, the Department of Health recorded cases of injury from the use of pellet guns, especially among children.
