3 arrested for illegal gambling in Parañaque

Operatives of the Parañaque City Police Intelligence Section arrested three suspects for illegal gambling on Thursday, Dec. 29.

Col. Renato Ocampo, city police chief, identified the suspects as Ronald Sumalinog, 28, driver; Rowell Caquicala,58; and Christian Lazaro, 43.

Ocampo said the suspects were nabbed at around 3:15 a.m. at Fourth Estate Area 1, Lazaro Compound in Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City.

The city police chief said members of the Intelligence Section went to Barangay San Antonio following a tip from concerned citizens that a group of individuals were engaged in illegal gambling in the area.

Ocampo said the suspects were caught playing with fruit game machines. Police confiscated from them were 96 pieces of P1 coin.

He said the suspects were charged for violation of PD 1602 (illegal gambling).
