Over P200,000 worth of 'smuggled' cigarettes seized in MisOr

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized almost P215,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes in a buy-bust operation in Opol town of Misamis Oriental.

CIDG director Police Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee said the operation that was carried out on Monday, Dec, 26, also resulted in the arrest of 30-year of Jonathan Jarap who was allegedly caught selling the smuggled items in Barangay Malanang.

Seized were several reams of smuggled cigarettes worth P214,900.

Jarap is now facing several criminal charges.
