Banned firecrackers seized in Imus, Cavite

IMUS CITY, Cavite – Authorities confiscated banned firecrackers from a store in Barangay Malagasang II-A here on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cavite Provincial Field Unit (PFU) set up an operation to catch a store helper who allegedly sells prohibited firecrackers.

During the date and time of the scheduled transaction, however, the seller may have sensed that he was dealing with operatives and did not show up.

Nonetheless, authorities went to the store address to conduct an inspection.

Though the shop had a license to sell firecrackers issued by the Firearms and Explosive Office, operatives found prohibited firecrackers in the store, including 20 reams of Five Star, 100 pieces of large-sized Whistle Bomb, and a 5,000-round Judas Belt.

The confiscated items, which have an estimated market value of P13,300, were brought to the CIDG office for documentation.
