In compliance with the law, the country's three telcos today, Dec. 27, 2022, opened their online Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration portals for subscribers.
Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has launched its online SIM Registration portal at http://www.smart.com.ph/simreg.
Smart Prepaid and TNT subscribers can now register their SIM and get 3 GB free data by visiting the registration portal, inputting the SIM user information, uploading a valid ID then waiting for an SMS confirmation.
The telco is also making its SIM Registration portal more accessible to subscribers through alternative channels, such as Smart Stores nationwide, Smart Hotlines (call *888 via Smart/TNT mobile, or 8888-1111 via landline), Smart Facebook Messenger Chatbot and Smart GigaLife App (downloadable on the App Store and Google Play Store).
On the other hand, Smart postpaid subscribers simply need to confirm the personal information and IDs they submitted for their postpaid plan application.
To do this confirmation, subscribers have to text YES to 5858. They shall then receive a confirmation message from Smart upon successful SIM Registration.
Smart Bro subscribers have to register the SIM inserted in their WiFi device and need to refer to www.smart.com.ph/viewbroadbandsms for instructions on viewing their required One-Time Password (OTP).

For their part, Globe Telecom Inc. and TM customers will continue to enjoy Globe services but must register until April 26, 2023 to avoid deactivation.
All Globe Prepaid, TM, Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi, Globe Mobile WiFi and Globe Business prepaid subscribers can register their SIMs at https://new.globe.com.ph/simreg.
By January, customers will also be able to register through the New GlobeOne app.
By February 2023, Globe is putting up assisted registration sites for those in need of help, without access to the internet or are using basic or feature phones.
This should likewise address the needs of senior citizens, persons with disability and pregnant individuals who may need help in registering their SIMs.
All existing Globe Postpaid, Globe Platinum, and Globe Business postpaid customers will be pre-registered by Globe using the details provided in their initial application.
Globe will get in touch with its customers should there be missing information needed in order to comply with the requirements of the law.
DITO Telecommunity existing subscribers are required to download and access the DITO App and click the registration banner to register their SIM cards.
New subscribers can register their SIM card via the SMS link they will receive after SIM card insertion.

Subscribers who successfully register their SIM cards will receive 2GB bonus data.
New DITO subscribers must register to activate their SIM cards, while existing prepaid and post-paid users will be given 180 days or 6 months from the effectivity of the law to register their SIM cards.
Failure to register will result in the deactivation of the SIM and possible penalties.
A deactivated SIM will be given a 5-day grace period to be registered and get reactivated.
The online registration will be free of charge and will require customers to provide their personal information (Full Name, Date of Birth, Sex, Present/Official Address) and a government-issued identification card (ID).
Minors shall register under their parent/legal guardian’s name along with any government-issued ID of the parent or guardian, and the consent of the minor’s parent or guardian to register the SIM.
Multiple SIM cards can be registered under one name.
Businesses that will register a SIM card must submit additional requirements such as their Securities and Exchange Commission Certificate of Registration, Board Resolution designating the authorized representative and other juridical entities, and Special Power of Attorney.
Meanwhile, a tourist or foreign national who will use a DITO SIM must submit a passport, proof of address in the Philippines, and a return ticket to own country showing date/time of departure from the Philippines.
