Parañaque Rep. Olivarez assists fire victims

Parañaque City 1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez distributed financial assistance to 220 families who lost homes to a fire that occurred a day after the celebration of Christmas on Monday.

The fire victims were temporarily staying at Palanyag gym in Barangay San Dionisio, Paranaque City.

Olivarez was joined by his brother, Mayor Eric Olivarez, in the distribution of financial assistance, food packs, 10 kilos of rice, and sleeping mats.

The Bureau of Fire Protection reported that the fire occurred at a compound at the corner of Tramo Uno and Tramo Dos in Barangay San Dionisio around 2:30 a.m. on Monday.

He said 100 houses were destroyed by the fire, affecting 220 families.

The BFP is still conducting investigation to determine the origin of the fire that damaged around P400,000 worth of property.

The fire was placed under control at around 6:14 a.m.
