SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – A 37-year-old member of a drug syndicate in Ilocos Norte surrendered to the intelligence unit of the provincial police recently.
The suspect was a high-value individual listed drug personality, a Top 10 regional priority target on illegal drugs, and a member of Bumanglag Drug Group under “Coplan: Segundo.”
Brig. Gen. John Chua, Ilocos region police chief, said the suspect surrendered with the assistance of her counsel Richard Tumaneng and Rev. Fr. Philip Anthony Dimagiba, Ilocos Norte police provincial chaplain, through house visitation in line with Kasimbayanan or the “Kapulisan, Simbahan, at Pamayanan” program of the Philippine National Police.
Suspect personally appeared at the intelligence unit and voluntarily executed an affidavit of undertaking not to be involved again in any illegal drug activities.
She vowed to actively support authorities in the fight against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the province.
However, she will still be under close monitoring to ensure the success of her commitment in supporting the government agenda to eliminate drug menace in the country.
