PBBM taps lady CPA to head NTA


VIGAN CITY – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed a Certified Public Accountant to lead the National Tobacco Administration (NTA).

Belinda S. Sanchez took her oath and replaced Robert Victor G. Seares Jr. in a simple ceremony at NTA Central Office in Quezon City recently.

The NTA Governing Board elected and confirmed the appointment of the agency’s first lady administrator and chief executive officer (CEO).

Sanchez is a young achiever in the corporate arena and a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) whose expertise include analytical and cash flow planning and management.

She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at the University of Santo Tomas in Sampaloc, Manila.

Her father, Benjamin Sarmiento, is a former member of the NTA Governing Board, a farmer leader, and a former mayor of San Juan, Ilocos Sur.

She vowed that the regulatory agency will continue to fulfill its mandate to improve the living condition and raise the quality of life of tobacco farmers.
