ZAMBOANGA CITY – A ‘’perya’’ or carnival controller was gunned down in Santa Lucia, Pagadian City on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Major Shellamie Chang said the victim, 35-year-old Niña Lou Aguilar Flores, was watching a perya game at around 9:30 p.m. when the suspect appeared from behind and shot her at the back of the head.
Flores was taken to a hospital where she died from a single bullet wound.
The suspect, Lumamba Aliyon Bundas, 44, was caught and mauled by bystanders.
Bundas sustained a serious head injury from the beating and was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol and a magazine loaded with ammunition in the crime scene.
