2 dead, 3 hurt in Christmas Eve motorcycle collision in Quezon


SAN NARCISO, Quezon – Two persons died while three others were injured when their motorcycles collided on the San Narciso-Buenavista Road in Barangay Guinhalinan here on Christmas Eve.

Police identified the victims as Mergelito Lingahan, 39, a fisherman and a resident of Sitio Bacolod, Barangay Manlampong, here, and Benedeck Palles, a student and a resident of Barangay Guinhalinan, this town.

Investigation said Palles and a back rider were on their way to the town proper when he lost control of their motorcycle upon reaching a curved part of the road and accidentally crashed into Lingahan’s motorcycle on the opposite lane.

As a result, Palles’ passenger, Bryze Banayado, 17, a student; and Areston Avila, 38, and Rodino Liquin, 26, Lingahan’s backriders, were injured.

The fatalities sustained injuries and were declared dead on arrival at the San Narciso Municipal Hospital. The injured were brought to the same hospital.
