Thousands pass through seaports a day before Christmas – PCG
Thousands of passengers trooped to various seaports nationwide on Saturday, Dec. 24, to go to the province or take a vacation elsewhere where they would spend the Christmas Day with their families.

PCG spokesperson Commo. Armando Balilo said the PCG monitored a total of 48,636 outbound passengers and 47,000 inbound passengers in ports.
The monitoring was made from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the numbers were expected to further increase later in the day.
To ensure that all ports would be secured, the PCG deployed 2,054 frontline personnel in 15 Coast Guard districts nationwide who led the inspection of sea vessels.
The PCG said 331 vessels and 535 motorbancas have been checked so far and they were in good condition.
Earlier, the PCG placed all Coast Guard districts, stations, and sub-stations on a heightened alert to manage the influx of port passengers during the Yuletide season. The heightened alert will last until Jan. 7, 2023.
