Taguig police recover P7.7-M shabu but suspect escapes

Police recovered more than one kilo of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in an operation but the drug carrier was able to escape in Taguig City.

According to the police, they found 1.14 kilos of shabu amounting to P7.752 million at Quiapo Dos, Cagayan De Oro Street in Barangay Maharlika Village, Taguig at about 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 23.

Joint elements of Taguig Police’s Substation 7 and Taguig Mobile Police Unit were conducting “Oplan Galugad” when they saw a suspect only known as Raks holding a sack.

When he saw the police, he immediately dropped the sack and ran.

Upon checking the content of the sack, the police immediately chased the suspect who was able to escape.

The drugs were sealed in three plastic sachets and placed in a tea bag. The police also recovered a weighing scale.

A follow-up operation is being conducted by the police to arrest the suspect.
