P544,000 shabu seized from drug gang member in Negros

BACOLOD CITY – A suspected member of a drug group was arrested and 80 grams of shabu worth P544,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Friday, Dec. 23.

The suspect was identified as Roldan Alqueza, 60, of Barangay 6, San Carlos City.

He was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas and PDEA-Negros Occidental, along with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and San Carlos City Police Station.

PDEA said the operation was carried out following a report sent via text through the ‘’Isumbong mo sa PDEA’’ hotline which aims to encourage the public to report illegal drug activities in their neighborhood.

A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
