Mayor Vico thanks on-duty frontline service workers this Christmas season

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto expressed his gratitude to the local government’s frontline service workers who are working tirelessly to keep the city secure, clean, and orderly during this Christmas season.

In a social media post on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, Sotto remarked that there is also no “Christmas break” for some local government offices, along with the “no noon break policy.”

These offices include the Peace and Order Department, in cooperation with the Pasig City Police Station (CPS), that functions to ensure the safety and security of the public, especially amid the surge of celebrations and outings this Christmas weekend; and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), in cooperation with the local Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) that responds to any incidents or calamities that may occur during this festive period.

The mayor also noted the work of the City Health Department (CHD), including the staff of the Barangay Health Centers and public hospitals, who are duty-bound to attend to the medical needs of Pasigueños and give urgent healthcare this Christmas.

These are among the essential offices that will continue to serve the city on Christmas Day.

The team operating the Oplan Kaayusan (OK) program, led by the Engineering Department, are also tasked to continue conducting repair and maintenance of infrastructure and other flood control works in the barangays.

Sotto, who joins the daily rollout of the OK program since its inception, is among the officials who will continue to meet, greet, and converse with Pasigueños at the barangay level, while supervising the OK activities this Christmas.

In recognition of their hardwork, the local government has been rewarding their employees by providing hazard pay and backpay and the regularization program, as well as giving performance-based bonuses through the “Good Governance Incentive.”

As the local government continues to serve the city all year round, Sotto wished the Pasigueño public and his constituents a merry Christmas.

“May we all have a restful and meaningful time with our families,” Sotto said.
