Bea Alonzo refutes Ogie Diaz's 'fake news' claim on film with John Lloyd Cruz

Bea Alonzo disproved Ogie Diaz's report about her and John Lloyd Cruz's upcoming reunion project being "fake news."

Bea cleared this in a recent interview with Nelson Canlas.

She said: "May lumalabas na sinabi daw ni John Lloyd na fake news yung movie namin. Siyempre tinawagan ko siya agad. Sabi ko, 'Di ba ang sabi mo ako na lang yung iniintay mo? Parang hindi ko naman papahintayin si John Lloyd. Magkaibigan naman kami tinawagan ko siya and he denied that he said that."

Bea revealed more details about the film.

According to her, she and John Lloyd will be starring in a Star Cinema film written by Carmi Raymundo, with concept by Enrico Santos, as directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Note that a few days ago, Ogie revealed in his vlog a conversation he had with a source claiming that John Lloyd was shocked hearing news of him working with Bea anew.

"Si John Lloyd naloka sa balita na gagawa sila ng pelikula," was how Ogie put it, adding: "Dahil unang-una wala raw ngayon - as per John Lloyd: walang offer. Walang lumalapit sa kanila para duon sa kung meron mang proposal ng Bea-John Lloyd movie."

Ogie continued: "Dahil unang-una ayaw magpaasa ni John Lloyd Cruz sa mga fans. Nahihiya  si John Lloyd Cruz na paasahin yung mga fans na meron silang comeback movie ni Bea. Yan daw ang di alam ni John Lloyd kung saan nakuha ni Bea."

"Alam mo lahat naman, sa totoo lang, lahat naman ay umaasa na magkakaroon ng John Lloyd-Bea movie. Lahat, pati nga tayo manunuod niyan e, if ever e. Kaya lang nga, yun ang masaklap na katotohanan na walang dumarating na offer kay John Lloyd Cruz. Sabi nga kung i-quo-quote natin si John Lloyd Cruz na sinabi sa atin ng source natin: 'Fake news yan! Fake news ang John Lloyd-Bea movie.'"

It was in 2015 when Bea and John Lloyd last shared the screen in “A Second Chance,” the follow up to their 2008 blockbuster film "One More Chance."  

John Lloyd has expressed hope to reunite on a project with Bea.

"Ang tagal niya na nga eh. Ang tagal na po akong naka-standby Miss Bea," he quipped then. "Waiting lang po, any time po on your cue."

In 2020, the reel partners did a live script reading, marking John Lloyd's first major public appearance after two years away from the limelight.

They later did an online content for a certain fast food chain.
