Cops seize over P220,000 illegal drugs, arrest 13 suspects in QC buy-busts
Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized a total of P221,240 worth of alleged shabu and marijuana and arrested 13 drug suspects in a series of buy-bust operations on Thursday, Dec. 22 and Friday, Dec. 23.
Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo, QCPD Novaliches Station (PS 4) commander, identified two of the suspects as Leo Sarmiento Gozum, 32, and Ragel Nemis Tagalog, 28, both residents of Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City.
Gozum and Tagalog were nabbed on Quirino Highway in Brgy. San Bartolome at around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, after a police officer who posed as a buyer successfully bought P15,000 worth of “shabu” from them.
They yielded 25 grams of alleged shabu valued at P170,000.00, the buy-bust money, a cellular phone, and white a Suzuki multicab.
The QCPD Project 4 Station (PS 8) also arrested Ronelo Alustor, 33, and Jimmy Amora, 38, both residents of Brgy. Dela Paz, Antipolo City in another sting on P. Burgos St. in Brgy. Escopa 3, Project 4, at around 11:45 p.m. on the same day.
Confiscated from them were 0.30 grams of shabu worth P2,040.00, a cellular phone and the buy-bust money.
Cops from the QCPD Anonas Station (PS 9) also nabbed in a buy-bust operation two suspects identified as Christian Borunes Moral and Napoleon Ebacoado Nepacina.
The operation was conducted at around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Block 2, Pook Arburetum, Brgy. U.P. Campus. Seized from the suspects were one gram of alleged shabu valued at P6,800, and the buy-bust money.
Meanwhile, the QCPD Holy Spirit Station (PS 14) collared Edzel Escartin, 26, a resident of Brgy Vasra, Quezon City; Ace Acuna, 23; Alvin Remano, 32; and Mark Anthony Gonzalez, 47, at about 4:45 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, on Papaya St. in Brgy. Culiat.
Authorities seized from the suspects five grams of “shabu” worth P34,000.
The Pasong Putik Police Station (PS 16) under PLTCOL confiscated 70 grams of suspected marijuana worth P8,400 from three men in an entrapment operation at Atrium St., Maligaya Park, Brgy. Pasong Putik, Quezon at around 6 a.m. on Friday.
Police identified the suspects as Joler Solomon, 23; Eddiezer Sacare, 20; and Jomuel Añasco, 23, all residents of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
All the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, the QCPD said.
QCPD director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III urged the city residents to coordinate with them if they have any information about individuals who sell or use illegal drugs.
