CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Two former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) finally decided to return to the folds of the law after a series of negotiations with the authorities in Abra and Mountain Province.
Brig. Genenal Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, said the rebel returnee in Abra was a former member under Lumbaya Command while the rebel returnee in Mt. Province was a former member of a Communist Front Organization and also a member of the East Chico Line of Kilusang Larangang Guerilla (KLG)-Marco.
In Abra, the formal surrender was made after a series of negotiations led by the operatives of the 1st and 2nd Abra Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFC), Luba Municipal Police Station (MPS), and the 1504th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15).
In Mt. Province, the formal surrender was facilitated after a series of negotiations led by the operatives of the Natonin MPS, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), 2nd Mountain Province PMFC, Philippine Army’s 69th Infantry Brigade (69IB), and the 1502nd Maneuver Company of RMFB15.
Bazar said the rebel returnees are now under the custody of the respective operating units for custodial debriefing and proper disposition.
