A taxi driver wanted for carnapping was arrested by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) and the Highway Patrol Team of Southern Police District on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Col. Byron Tabernilla, city police chief, said the suspect, Rosendo Pardello, 54, was nabbed at around 1:00 p.m. on Salud St. in Barangay 3, Pasay City.
Pardello, listed as the Top 6 most wanted person in the city, was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued on Dec. 6 by Judge Edilwasif Tapsiril Baddiri of Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 115 without recommended bail.
The city police chief said the suspect was charged for Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016) over his failure to return a taxicab to its owner after remitting the daily boundary last August.
