P8.5-M Ecstacy seized in Laguna

Authorities seized suspected Ecstacy valued at P8.5 million in a controlled delivery operation in Santa Rosa City, Laguna on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 21.

Police said the recipient of the illegal party drug, "Aira Almonte," was arrested after she received the package in a gas station in Barangay Dita.

The package was opened and yielded 5,032 pink tablets suspected to be Ecstasy concealed in six stuffed toys and four improvised pouches.

Also confiscated from the suspect was her fake school ID, postal, and BIR TIN card.

The package came from France and declared "Children Playing Item" and sent by "Bautista Victoria."

Almonte is now in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and an appropriate case against her is being prepared.
