The Negros Oriental police condemned the killing of the Catalonia family, namely, Pedro, his wife Servana, and their daughter Marites, all farmers, who were all found dead near their house in Barangay Najandig.
The couple’s son found them lifeless and discovered the things scattered inside their house when he went home that day.
Based on initial investigation, some of the personal belongings of the victims including cash worth P20,000 were reported missing.
In a press briefing on Thursday, Dec. 22, Col. Reynaldo Lizardo, acting Negros Oriental director, said they considered the incident as a case of robbery with multiple homicide.
He, however, said they are exploring other possible angles like grudges.
Lizardo said he instructed the police to look for witnesses to know what happened prior to the incident.
Col. Lizardo added that they already have two persons of interest in the incident, but cannot divulge their identities yet.
He assured that justice will be served to the victims.
