DILG-Caraga confers seal of child friendly environment to 33 LGUs


The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Caraga has conferred the Seal of Child Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) in the region to seven winners for 2019 passers and 26 passers for 2021 passers.

For 2019, Famacion said that Buenavista, Cabadbaran City and Tubay from Agusan del Norte; San Jose in Dinagat Islands; and, Claver, Gigaquit, and Mainit in Surigao del Norte were hailed as CFLGA passers.

Buenavista, Cabadbaran City, Jabonga and Tubay in Agusan del Norte; Bayugan City, Bunawan, La Paz, Loreto, Prosperidad, Rosario, San Luis, Sibagat, Talacogon, Trento, and Veruela, in Agusan del Sur; Basilisa, Cagdianao and San Jose in Dinagat Islands; Claver, Gigaquit, Mainit, Sison, and Tubod in Surigao del Norte; and, Cagwait, Hinatuan, and Lianga in Surigao del Sur were the recipients of the same award for 2021.

CFLGA is an assessment of the performance of LGUs designed to gauge the level of performance of LGUs in implementing child-friendly programs and services intended to promote and uplift the welfare of children.

Further, the LGUs were assessed based on the indicators categorized under the four core rights of children: survival, development, protection, and participation plus governance. (Chito A. Chavez)
