Covid-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila drops to 13.1%
Independent OCTA Research group, on Thursday, Dec. 22, disclosed that Metro Manila’s seven-day Covid-19 positivity rate has further dropped.

“Seven-day positivity rate in the National Capital Region decreased from 14.5 percent Dec. 13 to 13.1 percent Dec. 20,” said OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David in a tweet on Thursday afternoon.
In the same tweet, the expert revealed that Metro Manila’s reproduction number has likewise decreased to 0.91. Reproduction number pertains to the average number of transmissions that a certain virus carrier can infect.
This indicates that the risk of acquiring the virus will be lesser in areas with lower Covid-19 reproduction number.
“The seven-day average of new cases decreased from 447 to 404 a growth rate of -10 percent,” David added.
