Four people were injured after two motorcycles collided in Caloocan City early Thursday morning, Dec. 22.
The Caloocan City Police Station identified the victims as Marvin Santos Lao, 25, of Mapulang Lupa, Valenzuela City, and his passenger and live-in partner, Geralyn Himor, 27, of Ugong, Valenzuela City; Rene Carlo Reyes, 26, of Barangay 88, Z8 Caloocan City and his passenger and friend, Roel Coma Vallente, 38, of Barangay 38, Z8 Caloocan City.
According to the police report, the incident happened at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 5th Street in Barangay 28, Z8 Caloocan City at about 3:20 a.m. on Thursday.
Based on the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, Lao was traveling along 9th Avenue coming from Rizal Avenue Extension heading towards 8th St., while Reyes was traveling along 5th St. coming from C-3 heading towards EDSA.
When they reached the intersection, police said Reyes' motorcycle bumped the right portion of Lao's motorcycle.
Due to the strong impact, Lao's passenger, Himor, was thrown off the motorcycle and landed between a concrete gutter and an establishment's steel gate, injuring her head and leg.

All of them were brought to Caloocan City Medical Center (CCMC) for medical treatment, police said.
Lao was later transferred to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRMMC) for confinement and medical attention.
Based on the initial investigation, Reyes and his passenger were not wearing helmets and were under influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.
Reyes was also not able to present his driver's license.
No charges were filed against Reyes because he agreed to pay Lao and his live-in partner's medical expenses and motorcycle damages, police said.
