Majority of Filipinos think quality of life will improve over the next 6 months: OCTA survey

For most adult Filipinos, the quality of life “will improve” over the next six months based on the latest results of the OCTA Research survey released on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

According to the “Tugon ng Masa” Survey Results on Optimism conducted from Oct. 23 to 27, about 51 percent of adult Filipinos think their quality of life will “improve” over the next six months, 40 percent of think it will “stay the same," and six percent think it will “worsen.”

The survey also showed that across major areas, the percentage of adult Filipinos who think their quality of life will improve over the next six months ranges from 42 percent to 65 percent.

“The highest rating is in the Visayas (65 percent), and the lowest is in Mindanao (42 percent),” the survey revealed.

Meanwhile, the percentage of adult Filipinos who think their quality of life will worsen over the next six months ranges from three percent to 10 percent across different major areas.

The highest, according to the survey results, is Mindanao with 10 percent while the lowest is Balance Luzon with three percent.

Meanwhile, the highest percentage of adult Filipinos who think their quality of life will “improve” over the next six months is in Class D with 52 percent based on socioeconomic classes.

The OCTA survey also revealed that the highest percentage of adult Filipinos who believe that their “quality of life will get worse over” the next six months are in Classes A and E with seven percent.

The survey is an independent and non-commissioned poll conducted regularly by OCTA Research.

For this survey, the 1,200 male and female probability respondents aged 18 years and above from Class AB, C, D, or E homes were interviewed for the study.

The respondents were from the National Capital Region (NCR), Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

OCTA said that there was a random sampling for selecting the sample barangays. The number of barangays selected for each city or municipality was proportional to its corresponding population size.
