Cauayan City, Isabela -- In support of environmental protection, employees of SM City Cauayan joined the biggest tree-planting activity of the provincial government of Isabela, the One Million Bamboos in One Day Project.
SM showed its support to environmental protection by donating 10,000 bamboo propagules for the project.
The project which is part of the national government’s greening program is expected to rehabilitate and restore the Cagayan River Riparian Zones.
“Over the years, SM has been supportive to environmental efforts to promote green planet and to help the government raise awareness on the importance of tree planting to the community,” said Rowinson Valmonte, Assistant Mall Manager of SM City Cauayan.
Likewise, SM also supported the One Million Trees in One Day Tree Planting project of PGI in 2019 by donating 10,000 narra seedlings.
The biggest tree planting activity in Isabela was participated in by the youth, barangay residents, schools and other sectors from the private and public entities.
