FINEX Ethics Book Volume 2 launched

Last November 28, 2022 was the launching of Ethics Book Volume 2 which is a project of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) Ethics Committee.  No less than Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ( BSP) Governor Felipe Medalla and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual who graced the eventful occasion. This was hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry through our supportive DTI Secretarty Alfredo Pascual.  This is a unique book in the sense that many known personalities both in business, social, educational, government and other sectors had contributed their knowledge and thoughts to this, with topics revolving around the title ETHICS: ENDURING OR EVOLVING?”.

The readers of this book has the advantage of seeing ethics in the perspective of different sectors and different personalities who are all successful in their respective endeavors. This is an updated version of the Volume 1 “ETHICS: BLACK, WHITE OR GREY?”. After months of compiling and editing finally we were able not only to complete but to launch this book.

The satisfaction that we get from completing this book cannot be measured by monetary values alone. It is the feeling that somehow in our own little way we can make this place a better place to live in, hoping that this book will mold the minds not only of our future leaders but our current leaders and workers and the public as a whole on how to run their workplaces or businesses or their people by inculcating the proper ethical values.

The readers can learn from the experiences of the industry captains in PART I of the Book, through the eyes of their children or grandchildren or their companies’ executives in not only making “built-to-last” companies but enduring ethics passed on from one family generation or work culture generation to the next.

Part 2 is also interesting because the writers did not only tackle the topic on enduring ethical values but also values that evolve through time.  This is especially true  because we had undergone a pandemic beyond what human beings can imagine will occur and so had “stirred the hornet’s nest” as they say and forced us to look on ethical values in a different scenario while making sure we stick through what are values that should endure through time.

The beneficiaries of the sale of this book (which is very affordable) will be the students in different schools and universities in the country as it is FINEX’s advocacy to give this for free to students. To those who are interested to get hold of a copy of the book, please contact [email protected] and [email protected].

Your purchase of the book will not serve as your guide on ethics but will go a long way in making this available to the young generation (rich or poor) in shaping these young minds towards right ethical values.
