3 weather systems may bring some rains over parts of PH — PAGASA

The northeast monsoon, shear line, and trough of a low pressure area (LPA) may bring cloudy weather with some rains over parts of the country within 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
Cloudy skies with rains may prevail over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz due to the northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan.”
The shear line and trough or extension of LPA may also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.
PAGASA warned those in areas affected by the amihan and shear line to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of Western Visayas may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light amihan rains.
The rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The public is advised to remain vigilant as severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides, especially in areas prone to these hazards.
