A Korean was shot dead by two men who tried to rob him in Pasay City early Friday morning, Dec. 2.
Col. Byron Tabernilla, Pasay City Police chief, identified the victim as Lee Seung Hoon, 45.
Tabernilla said the victim suffered a gunshot wound in the back of the body and was declared on arrival at San Juan de Dios Hospital.
He said one of the suspects identified as Jerome Quiñones Caratao was arrested after he was identified by a witness.
The other suspect, Prince Eleazar Datinguinoo Tupas, is now being hunted by the police.
The city police chief said the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. along the service road of Roxas Boulevard in front of the Lacson Residence in Pasay City.
Based on the CCTV footage reviewed by the police, the victim was walking when the suspects appeared and announced the holdup.
The victim reportedly resisted, prompting the suspects to shoot him.
The police said the suspects boarded a tricycle and fled toward Williams Street.
The arrested suspect is now detained at the police custodial facility and will be charged with robbery with homicide.
