Jodi Sta. Maria admits having 'kilig' moment with Coco Martin in 'Labyu With An Accent'

Jodi Sta. Maria admitted having a "kilig" moment after shooting a scene with Coco Martin in the movie "Labyu With An Accent," an official entry to the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Under the production of Star Cinema, "Labyu with an Accent" follows the whirlwind love story of Gabo (Coco Martin) and Trisha (Jodi Sta. Maria). During its grand media launch held at the Dolphy Theater of the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City recently.

Jodi shared what made her accept the role of Trisha.

"Naging open naman ako nung for pitching sa akin ng Star Cinema para dun sa story ng film and ako naman I wasn't doing anything that time and yung story kasi is light and cute, and then I just knew that it is going to be fun," she said.

She also admitted that she would get a "kilig" moment after shooting a scene.

"Kasi binibigyan lang kami ng scene kaya nagbabatuhan na lang kami and hinahayaan na lang namin kung saan kami dalhin, so may mga scenes talaga na alam mo yung sumisipa bigla yung kilig," Jodi mentioned.

Marking his project after ending "Ang Probinsyano," Coco admitted he took a long time to conceptualize the film and mentioned that he did his best to ensure that the audience would see his different side throughout the film.

"Actually pinilit at inaral talaga namin siya ibahin yung experience, actually hirap na hirap talaga ako, kaya nagpatulong na ako kay direk Malou Sevilla, syempre seven years din yung probinsyano kaya sinugurado namin na ibang experience at character ang makikita niyo dito," Coco mentioned.

Aside from Jodi and Coco, other casts in the film include John Medina, Nova Villa, Rochelle Pangilinan, Nash Aguas, Nikki Valdez, Joross Gamboa, and more graced the red carpet.
